Contract: Fixed Term, Full time until 31 January 2019

 

Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate in the Department of Bioengineering, based at the South Kensington Campus of Imperial College London.

 

This post is available immediately until 31 January 2019 in the first instance and is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council as part of a multidisciplinary research project with Dr Mengxing Tang and Dr Chris Dunsby at Imperial and Dr Robert Eckersley and Dr Paul Aljabar at King’s College London. The goal of this project is to develop novel super-resolved ultrasound imaging technologies for in vivo 3-D imaging of microvasculature structure and perfusion.

 

You must have a degree (or equivalent) in physics or biomedical engineering or similar and a PhD (or equivalent) in a related area. Evidence of significant experience in scientific computing, e.g. using Matlab, Labview, Python and/or C/C++ is essential, as are evidence of analytical skills, including the ability to model and simulate physical processes, and experience of data processing.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to organize their own work with minimal supervision, the ability to prioritize their own work in response to deadlines and evidence of the ability to successfully work in a team. Experimental skills, e.g. working with electronic equipment for laboratory data acquisition are desirable.
